Emily & Cody | Adrian College | Blissfield, MI
Updated: Jul 13
This has been a hard year for a lot of people expecting a spring or summer wedding. For many people, COVID-19 has meant that gatherings and ceremonies looked quite different from what might have been planned; guest list cuts, venue changes, and celebrating with social distancing. For my fist wedding in this new normal, I got to see Cody & Emily persevere throughout all the uncertainty this crisis has brought us. Every time I spoke with Emily leading up to the day, I could tell in her voice that she was just so happy to be marrying Cody that the stress and revised plans didn't seem to matter as much to her. She was contagiously optimistic through the challenges of having a wedding during what 2020 has brought us, and the day was absolutely remarkable because of it. Emily and Cody got to say their vows in the large chapel at Adrian College, leaving all of their guests with the room to practice some social distancing. After the ceremony guests headed back to Emily's parent's house, which was elegantly decorated with large white tents, keepsake photos, and stunning flowers planted by Emily's mother and father. My most memorable part of that evening was during Emily and Cody's first dance, which took place under twinkling lights on the deck. I couldn't help but think about all the memories they have, and will make, from that exact spot.
Cody had the widest grin on his face all day, and I could tell how easily he put everyone at ease just being around him. This truly was a wonderful day to reflect and see the positive around us, and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for these two.
